BAW - Editing Contact Information

Introduction

1) This function controls the contact details that appear on your "Contact Us" page. You can feature your company name, address, phone number, mobile, e-mail address, fax and a short message.

 

2) Part of this section is also used for SEO purposes to boost your visibility in search engines.

 

Editing your details

1) To edit your contact details, click on the "Contact" button.

 

2) A form appears.

 

3) The first section of this form is straightforward – you have a few fields to fill in. These fields are also used to populate template text in the content editor, which you'll see in another video, so what you enter is important.

 

4) Enter your company name in the top field, e-mail address in the next, then your address, city, state and zipcode. These are all required fields – you can see they have the asterisk next to the field title.

 

5) Then you have optional fields – country, phone number, mobile number and fax number. Complete these if you want to include these contact details on the website.

 

Adding a message

1) The next field is a text editor. This controls the text that appears under your contact details and above the contact form on your "Contact Us" page.

 

2) You can change the text in this simple editor here, where you have a few formatting tools, and then you can just move on to the next few fields to complete the form.

 

3) Alternatively, you can click on "Advanced" to bring up the advanced editor. However, before using the advanced editor, scroll down to the bottom of the form and save your changes by clicking "Save", as when you access the advanced editor, the changes in your form will not be saved.

 

4) Once you've saved your form changes, you'll need to bring it back up again by clicking the "Contact" button.

 

5) Then click on "Advanced".

 

6) The advanced editor has quite a few formatting tools for your text, and you can add links and images if you like as well.

 

7) When you're finished, click "Save" at the top of the advanced editor to save your changes.

 

8) You'll then need to go back into the contact editor to finish this form off.

Entering location details for SEO

1) Whichever text editor you used, you should now be ready to complete the final few fields. These fields need to be completed for Search Engine Optimisation, or SEO purposes. These fields are used to populate template text, so filling them in is important.

 

2) All you need to do is enter your location details into each field – the more specific you can get, the better.

 

3) When you've entered your details, click "Save".

 

4) Your contact information will now be set up, and if you go to your "Contact Us" page then you will it displayed.
